In 2014 the beloved animated childhood series Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles turned into a CGI action-packed adventure.

Whilst Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles did not win over many critics, it is a fun and funny alternative for anyone who needs a break from the oh-so-serious tone of something like the Dark Knight Trilogy.

Transforming these half-shell heroes into realistic and believable characters was no mean feat, and even though Michael Bay-produced film may not have convinced the critics, the film is thoroughly watchable.

Sometimes heroic films don't need to make sense or fit into a larger world plan, sometimes you need teenage mutant ninja turtles running around with Megan Fox and saving the day.
