10 Teased Movies We Need To Admit Are Not Going To Happen
1. At The Mountains Of Madness
Ask Guillermo Del Toro to tell the tale of the one that got away and he might just wistfully tell you of his HP Lovecraft designed white whale, all biomechanic gills and teeth. Because since 2006, Del Toro - who has a number of unrealised projects to his name rather famously - has been trying to bring Lovecraft's At The Mountains Of Madness to the big screen.
Unfortunately, several attempts to kickstart production have been met with studio reluctance and financing concerns (partly due to Del Toro's insistence on an R rating). Then when Prometheus came out, Del Toro said the project would have to pause and teased its outright cancellation before again saying he'd try one more time to get it made in 2013.
Since then, despite Del Toro winning an Oscar, there's been nothing concrete beyond fans and critics calling for it to be made and it's just about time we all accept that he's never going to get it made. As sad as that is.
