10 Terrible Movies That Got ONE Thing Right
10. Friday The 13th Part 7: The New Blood - The Final Showdown
The Friday the 13th series is the epitome of the '80s slasher genre. There's no prep, no homework needed before you watch one of these films. You're going to see Jason (or some facsimile of him) kill people in creative ways, naked girls, stupid horny teens going into the woods alone, and a final girl who barely survives.
One time, though, a final girl, instead of stumbling her way through the film and surviving through luck, took the fight to Jason. In The New Blood, our heroine Tina, who is improbably telekinetic, unleashes the full range of her powers on Jason.
It makes for a nice change from the usual one or two shots Jason takes before moving on to his next victim. Jason, looking suspiciously like Iron Maiden's Eddie, gets knocked down, choked, slammed through a floor, spiked, set on fire, electrocuted, and has a porch dropped on him.
Fun fact - Kane Hodder, who plays Jason, set a record in this film for longest uninterrupted on-screen controlled burn when he was lit on fire. No CGI in '88.
Of course, Jason ultimately lives through it. The next year he said to hell with it and took a trip to Manhattan.
