The biggest practical issue about the film is simply that there are going to be too many characters to fit into the movie, both in terms of a story that fits neatly into a 2.5-hour run-time, and literally squeezing so many superheroes into the cinematic frame.

With the film reportedly featuring up to 70 characters, the Russos have a mammoth task making everything click together organically and not feeling extremely forced or rushed.

This is a superhero movie that's bigger and more ambitious than anything ever attempted before, so as far as complaints about the film go, this would certainly be one of the more believable and somewhat understandable ones.

Will It Happen?: There's a very real possibility of this, though the Russos may attempt to combat it by compartmentalising the action, and cross-cutting between two or three battles taking place at once that means the entire Avengers line-up doesn't need to be crammed into one frame.

The smartest idea might be to bring the entire team together for dialogue-based scenes in order to give audiences the fan service moments they crave, but then break things up for the set-pieces.
