8. The F Word Is Used 300 Times Throughout The Film
This one is hardly surprising. At the time of Goodfellas' release in 1990, the only film that came close to using the F bomb as many times as Scorsese's gangster epic had used it only 230 times. The obscenity count for Goodfellas may be low in comparison to the current leader: The Wolf of Wall Street (coincidentally another Scorsese film), but that makes its potty mouth no less impressive. As always, unless there's context or a reason for expletives to roll off the tongue on such a regular basis, then the film in question just feels cheapened by it. However, being a Scorsese film, expletive-laden dialogue is expected almost as much as stylised violence is expected in a Tarantino flick. Considering Goodfellas is a story centering around the Italian American mob, you'd be more surprised if there wasn't a swear word being blurted out after almost every line of dialogue.
