9. She Knew She Was Going To Be Famous

Jennifer Lawrence demonstrated an early knack for performing, as evidenced by the way she threw herself into the role of a prostitute in a church play based on the Book of Jonah. Aged just nine, her mother recalls her €œswinging her booty and strutting her stuff,€ leading friends to comment: €œWe don€™t know if we should congratulate you or not, because your kid's a great prostitute.€ Nonetheless, Lawrence had no particular interest in acting in her formative years. Instead, she preferred more physical pursuits like softball, field hockey, basketball and even cheerleading, earning the nickname €˜Nitro€™ from her family due to her hyperactive nature. Still, despite having relatively normal aspirations and envisaging herself as a mother and possibly a doctor, Lawrence couldn€™t escape the feeling that she would one day see her name in lights:
€œI always knew that I was going to be famous. I honest to God don€™t know how else to describe it. I used to lie in bed and wonder, €˜Am I going to be a local TV person? Am I going to a motivational speaker?€™ It wasn€™t a vision. But as it€™s kind of happening, you have this buried understanding: €˜Of course.€™€
