3. Bring The Fantastic Four Into The MCU
To say that the Fantastic Four have been given short shrift on the big screen would be an understatement, to put it lightly.
Despite being comic book mainstays since 1961, Marvel's First Family have pretty much been shafted, cinematically speaking. The infamous and unreleased Roger Corman version from 1994 was nothing more than an attempt to hold on to the rights, while Tim Story's child-friendly and painfully banal big-budget efforts from the 2000's were pretty terrible by all accounts.
And the less said about Josh Trank's reboot, the better; dogged by behind-the-scenes issues, the end result was a complete and utter sh*tshow that ranks as one of the worst comic book movies ever made. So far, the Fantastic Four are 0-4 on the big screen, which is hardly encouraging. Then again, they've never been in Kevin Feige's sandbox before...
If anyone can make the foursome work within the context of the modern superhero movie, its Marvel Studios. Their formula is essentially bulletproof at this point, about as much of a critical and commercial sure thing as you'll find in Hollywood these days.
Feige has admitted that he'd love to have the characters available to him, saying in an interview following Disney's purchase of Fox that he was 'just sitting, waiting for a phone call to say yay or nay'. If the answer is 'yay' (which it presumably will be), the Fantastic Four would undoubtedly shoot right to the very top of the MCU's priorities. Well, almost the top...
