What Everyone Thinks: The marketing told us all that the next Paranormal Activity movie would be the last one, so they wouldn't dare lie to us, right? The Truth: Though the series' box office and critical welfare have both been falling off a cliff since the fourth movie, it seems rather likely that Paramount will pursue a sixth film soon enough, if probably on VOD. Look at the evidence: The Ghost Dimension ended on a major cliffhanger, it still made almost 8x its budget back, and even if a sequel made just 25% of what the most recent film made, it still wouldn't be a complete flop. We all hoped we'd get the tidy resolution we were promised, but as horror franchises like Friday the 13th have proven, "final" rarely means just that.
