10 Things In The DCEU That Make No Sense

10. Zod's Plan In Man Of Steel Leaves Him Vulnerable

The DC Extended Universe kicked off in 2013 with the Superman film, Man of Steel. It received heavy criticism for being too dark, especially for the scene where Superman murdered Zod in the film's conclusion. Even though Superman killed Zod in Superman II and in the comics, this was the moment that viewers said "ruined the movie".

It is odd that critics fixated on this scene and not other moments like... Zod's entire plan.

Since Zod is Kryptonian, he has superstrength and can fly when exposed to a yellow Sun. Zod attempts to use The World Engine to terraform the Earth so his species will revert to normal. Unfortunately, the terraforming will kill all of humanity.

Why does Zod want to rid himself of his superpowers? He can fly in space, lift a building, shoot lasers from his eyes, and freeze things with his breath. Why give that up? It would make more sense if he used his god-like power to rule over humanity.

Also, if Zod has the power to alter a planet’s atmosphere, why doesn’t he terraform a world that isn’t guarded by Superman? If he terraformed Mars, I’m sure the inhabitants of Earth would've been cool with that.
