This should seem like a given, yes, but it's also important to remember that blockbuster movies, especially superhero films, are sold on the strength of their imagery pretty much above all else, so it's not too surprising that they so often end up being style-over-substance affairs.

One of the most unexpected things about Wonder Woman is how important the dialogue-driven scenes feel, doubling down on the characters and making the audience feel something for them before they're put in peril.

Take the early boat scene, a quiet, amusing discussion between Diana and Pine that strengthens their bond to each other and tells the audience a lot about who they are. Justice League would absolutely benefit from some calmer scenes like this in-between all the riotous action.
