6. Depending On Who You Talk To, Thor's The Focus Of The Avengers
With Phase One in the can and The Avengers serving as a bridge between phases, people started to wonder how this bridge would work in terms of the ever present issue of continuity. The subject of how both Phases relate to one another was, surprisingly, explained with the example of Thor. Despite the film's mixed image in the eyes of fans, it was explained that "Thor, more than any of the other characters, went through a lot in The Avengers." It almost sounds like out of all the Avengers, Thor's use of some sort of dark sorcery to come back and apprehend his brother was the greatest feat. To an extent, it does fit that description, but what takes away from that argument is the fact that the level of care taken in explaining this great feat doesn't match the dedication Marvel has shown with similar material. If someone's trying to recreate the Super Soldier serum, naturally Dr. Erskine's entire back story would be overkill. But if Thor's breaking all sorts of laws and boundaries on this epic quest to save his brother and recover the loot, then surely there would be a little more explanation behind it. Again, it really depends on who you talk to.
