10 Things We Learned From The Super Bowl Trailers

7. 3 Days To Kill Might Be McG's First Good Action Film

McG is a director best known for having a totally ridiculous name, and helming a number of disappointing action films, be it the Charlie's Angels movies, or more to the point, the diabolical fourth Terminator movie, Terminator Salvation. It's not so much that McG is a bad director, because Salvation in particular was excellent from a visual perspective (and weren't we all suckered in by those gorgeous trailers?), but that the guy just works with horrible scripts, as evidenced by his last effort, the meek spy-thriller comedy This Means War. But this could all be turned around with his latest effort, 3 Days to Kill, a seemingly slick, humourous action flick, which sees Kevin Costner's dying Secret Service agent taking on one last task with the hope of obtaining a medical cure upon its completion. It's nicely shot, has some nice gags in this teaser, features an always-welcome Amber Heard, and is further proof of how hot Kevin Costner's career has once again become. Or have I just been suckered in by yet another glossy trailer from the preposterously-named filmmaker? We'll know soon enough, as the movie hits US cinemas on February 21st.
