10 Things Marvel Fans Don't Want To Accept About Sony's Marvel Universe

6. Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse Got Peter Parker Wrong

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is often hailed as a masterpiece, and honestly, it deserves that description for the most part. Visually, it's nothing short of beautiful, and the story packs a powerful punch with plenty of terrific performances from the voice cast.

However, when it comes to the portrayal of Peter Parker, the movie was something of a disappointment. That won't be an easy thing for those who believe Into the Spider-Verse can do no wrong to hear, but just look at the Spidey who dies. He had a secret base, dozens of costumes, and a celebrity lifestyle. Nothing about that really sits right.

On the opposite end of the scale, there's a Peter who has fallen into a depression because Mary Jane left him. While his story arc was an enjoyable one, it didn't sit quite right either, especially when the wall-crawler is a character who always gets back up when he's knocked down.

It honestly felt like Into the Spider-Verse wanted to make Peter look as bad as possible to help Miles shine, and that teenager is such a great character in his own right, it just wasn't necessary.
