10 Things MCU Fans Found Too Distracting

10. Monica Rambeau's Aerospace Engineer

When the Marvel Cinematic Universe returned after 18 months away, it’s fair to say that perhaps fans got a little carried away. Not only did WandaVision open the doors to Phase Four, it also introduced fans to the new episodic format of the Disney+ series.

With smaller, bite-size chunks of a larger story, and an entire week in between each to theorise about what they would see in the coming weeks, the MCU audiences became prone to a little overthinking.

The nature of WandaVision’s mystery factor, and the excitement that the franchise was back meant this show suffered more than most from this, one of the main occasions being the mention of an aerospace engineer. Literally, all Monica Rambeau said was that she knew an aerospace engineer, and all of a sudden fans, this writer included, began expecting someone like Reed Richards to make an appearance in Westview.

Should this line have been spoken in a movie, it would have been resolved in a matter of hours. In this format however, fans were left to ponder for weeks about who the mysterious engineer would be, before being let down by the revelation that it wasn’t a tease for anything. She just knew an aerospace engineer.
