10. What Happened To Solomon Lane?

At the end of Rogue Nation, former MI 6 operative and Syndicate leader Solomon Lane (a nod to the pulp character Solomon Kane, though the resemblance is superficial at best) is locked in a glass box and gassed into unconsciousness, much as Tom Cruise's Ethan Hunt was at the beginning of the film.

What happened to Lane is anybody's guess, but it's something that really should be explained, even just in passing, in film six. He was being loaded into a police van by the IMF team, but just who will they hand him over to? The CIA? Some other American agency? MI 6, who they just caused a minor row with?

It may seem like a minor detail, this question of "what happens to the bad guy when he's actually captured?" - but given how calculated Lane was throughout Rogue Nation, you can envision him either breaking out with ease, or playing Hannibal Lector to Hunt in some future film. Actually, that last premise could work very, very well.
