6. People saying the word zombie when talking about zombies
In werewolf films people use the word werewolf. In supernatural films characters use the word ghosts. But in virus films about undead uprisings, no one uses the word zombie. Even in The Walking Dead comics and TV show, theyre called biters, roamers or walkers. Zombies are sometimes even given ironic euphemism-type labels, or not named at all. So whats going on? We know theyre zombies, guys, it says so on the poster! Its genuinely a mystery why almost every zombie movie is set in a world where zombies have not been part of pop culture for about 50 years. In Shaun of the Dead the z-word is used, but quickly discarded. Maybe filmmakers think their film wont be scary or taken seriously if they drop the z-bomb?
