Picture this for a moment. It's the end of Bond 24 and the bad guy comes up and shoots Bond point blank in the back of the head. The film cuts to black with the sound of the shot and the credits begin to roll. The infamous slogan comes across the screen: James Bond will return... or will he? The lights come up and people sit riveted to their seats in an absolutely horrified shock. James Bond is dead? They wouldn't even be able to pick their bottom jaws off the floor for the next year. That's the kind of Bond film we want to see. One that will shock us beyond expectation. Of course, James would be resurrected, back from the grave in Bond 25, but for once if the film ended with him dying how blown away would that leave the audience? Alas, it's just way too risky for the studios to try something so unexpected in a Bond film, which is why it makes number one on this list. James bond dying at the end of the movie? Once more, not in this lifetime.
