5. All The Crazy Fan Theories

There are several popular fan theories about Jar Jar, the most prominent of which materialised shortly before The Force Awakens' release, and stated that he was in fact planned to be a powerful Sith Lord, until the overwhelming fan backlash caused Lucas to switch gears and dial his role back in the latter two prequels.

Then there's the belief among some fans that Jar Jar is in fact the legendary Sith Darth Plagueis, which doesn't really make a lot of sense, but it's still amusing all the same.

In short, fans are so eager for Jar Jar's annoyance to have some sort of exterior, ultimate meaning that they've gotten very creative indeed.
