7. She Was Discovered After Shouting At A Banker

Theron abandoned her dreams of becoming a dancer, but she continued to aim highly and moved to L.A. to pursue a career in acting. However, she was broke, and living on the remnants of money from her modelling time. However, in 1994, her big break arrived in the most extraordinary way. She was prevented from cashing an out-of-state check, and proceeded to furiously protest at the bank teller, swearing in English and Afrikaans. After her tirade subsided, fellow bank customer John Crosby approached her and offered her a card with his number, with Theron initially thinking he was a creepy guy trying to pick her up. Crosby was actually a famed Hollywood agent to actor John Hurt and soon after, she became one of his clients.
