Once you've been a part of the The Star Wars Holiday Special, a guest spot on The Muppets is the only way to claw back some needed integrity. Perhaps that's why Luke Skywalker - alongside faithful companions R2-D2 and C-3PO - appeared on an episode of the classic show in 1980, a year before the release of The Empire Strikes Back. That said, Mark Hamill's in-character appearance on The Muppet Show isn't a particularly well-known occurrence - it's one that feels truly lost in the mists of time. The "sketch" in question was part of the Pigs in Space segment, and - for what it's worth - Hamill really dedicates himself to the part. The plot sees the Jedi and his droids on a mission to rescue Chewbacca, for some reason, and is well worth watching because... well, it's just totally bizarre, really: the sort of thing that only the '80s could turn out.
