10 Times Marvel Movies F*cked Up Character Design

7. Quicksilver - Avengers: Age Of Ultron

Say what you want about the version of Quicksilver that appeared in X-Men: Days Of Future Past, but at least Bryan Singer and Evan Peters' walking 70s migraine made sense in context. He was a kid without taste who didn't care what other people thought. In contrast, the Aaron Taylor-Johnson version of Pietro Maximoff we met briefly in Age Of Ultron seems to have been dressed purely based on the fact he likes to run. Throughout the film Taylor-Johnson is seen wearing variations of sports kit, often with chevrons down the arm just so we know that he's fast, or Gore-Tex muscle shirts. We get it, running is his thing, but that's no excuse for him to dress like he's just joined the local jogging team. Quicksilver is a a character with a hard power to contextualise with clothes, but in Age Of Ultron he basically looks like the costume designer stopped by a Nike factory outlet on the way home.
