10. Anakin Forgets He’s Going To Be Vader

Star Wars episodes I-III are all about Anakin Skywalker's journey to becoming Darth Vader.

Star Wars episodes IV-VI are all about Darth Vader's journey to becoming Anakin Skywalker.

As for episodes VII-IX, don't worry; we'll get to those later.

The former podracing king and world's most annoying child turning into the greatest evil the galaxy has ever known, is the engine that drives the most beloved parts of the Star Wars mythos.

Naturally, the animated Clone Wars series chose to mess with that story mightily.

In the Season 3 episode Ghosts of Mortis, Anakin confronts an incredibly powerful Force wielder known as the Son. In an attempt to convert Skywalker to the Dark Side, the Son shows him a vision of the future.

It is revealed to Anakin that he will betray the Jedi, murder his own wife, and transform into Vader. Then, super conveniently, these memories are wiped from his mind at the end of this arc.

So, Anakin technically knew the entire time that he was going to become Vader? He just couldn't remember it?

The Ghosts of Mortis moment was cool and all, but it left a massive hole in an otherwise pretty perfect story.
