Packed with levels of CGI that only the love child of James Cameron and, uh, James Cameron could dream of, this year's upcoming Alice Through the Looking Glass looks like a video game masquerading as a feature length film. Alice in Wonderland, the 2010 Tim Burton remake, was a pretty terrible movie, all in all - boring, incoherent, and packed with irritating performances from start to finish. Before this two-minute trailer was unveiled, however, there was hope that, you know, James Bobin - who takes over as director this belated installment - might have bucked his ideas up: a better plot, perhaps; more practical sets; a story with a bit of weight to it, even. Nope: Alice Though the Looking Glass appears to be repeating the mistakes of its predecessor, only now with the addition of a villain played by Sasha Baron Cohen, who - quite frankly - looks irksome as f*ck. He's French or something, for no reason at all.
