10 Unbelievably Boring Horror Movies

10. Maximum Overdrive

A film about killer vehicles, written and directed by Stephen King, featuring some interesting actors including the voice of Lisa Simpson. How in the hell did this film end up being so boring? Despite everything going into it making you think it would either be a compelling scary masterpiece or an absolute disaster, it does neither and only ends up as a dull outing.

The story revolves around a group of people who attempt to survive the onslaught of a collection of homicidal machines that are keeping them from escaping a gas station. This essentially becomes the premise for the entire run-time as nothing much happens outside of this simple set up.

It feels like there may be grander things at play, and those knowledgeable in the universe of Stephen King may get some enjoyment out of discerning how it connects to the broader mythos. But ultimately, this project ends up being an unbelievably dull adventure in waiting for something to happen.

The advertisement for this features King saying that since no one would direct his work right that he would do it himself. Unfortunately, it seems he's no better at interpreting his stories on the screen.
