The Perks of Being a Wallflower is one of the best films about high school and growing up that has ever been made. Stephen Chbosky directed and adapted his best selling novel brilliantly to the big screen. He gives the audience characters that are extremely realistic and believable because they don't follow the typical high school character movie tropes. The film provides a clear sense of camaraderie that speaks for the nature of friendship in general and the importance of having good friends while growing up. Sam, Patrick and Charlie seem less like movie characters and more like people you could have known in high school which gives The Perks of Being a Wallflower a tone of nostalgia and reminiscence that make it able to resonate with anyone watching it whether they're young or old.
