Not to be confused with Dario Argento’s Inferno, this adaptation of Dan Brown’s bestseller brings back Tom Hanks as Robert Langdon, an academic who gets caught up in the unlikeliest adventures.

In The Da Vinci Code, Hanks discovered that Audrey Tautou was the last living descendent of Jesus Christ, while in Angels & Demons he encountered Ewan McGregor’s sky diving Cardinal. What nonsense does he get involved in this time, you ask?

Judging from the trailer, Hanks gets to save mankind from extinction by running around a series of glamorous locales accompanied by Felicity Jones, who looks young enough to be his daughter. You see, someone has created a plague and in order to stop it, Hanks has to solve a series of riddles based around the work of Dante Alighieri, the Italian poet. Expect two and a half hours of clunky plot contrivances and dialogue that lands with a thud.
