10 Upcoming Movie Roles That Are Completely Miscast

5. Peter Rabbit (James Corden) - Peter Rabbit

You need only look at the like-to-dislike ratio on the first trailer to understand how people feel about James Corden voicing Peter Rabbit in the upcoming live-action/CGI hybrid.

The movie - based on the Beatrix Potter character of the same name - looks like it's going against everything that made the source material great.

The Peter Rabbit stories are simple, with a positive message for children to take onboard (in The Tale Of Peter Rabbit, Peter snacks on some veggies that don't belong to him. He becomes ill as a result, and is forced to watch while his sisters enjoy a delicious supper. Don't steal, kids!), but the movie is about a gang of animals having a house party. Wonderful.

It's far too energetic and over-the-top, and Corden only amplifies that feeling. He has one of those voices and personalities that's fine when he's the sideshow - like his brief stint on Doctor Who - but when it's being used to propel a feature-film about a character that should be endearing and likeable? His cheeky, ever-so-slightly arrogant tone will end up grating on the ears.

Corden can be fun in small doses - and if he's given the right material - but when you hear his voice coming out of a cute little rabbit, it evokes a feeling similar to the one you'd get if Melissa McCarthy were to voice the Queen Of England. The two just don't fit.
