10 Upcoming Movies Nobody Asked For
10. Bourne 6
The Bourne franchise certainly had a good run, releasing five movies over an almost 15-year period which collectively grossed more than $1.6 billion and were mostly well-received - especially the ones starring Matt Damon.
Despite the series seemingly winding down with 2016's Jason Bourne, however, last year it was confirmed that a sixth film was in development, with Edward Berger (All Quiet on the Western Front) tapped to direct and Damon being courted to star once again.
Except, the Damon-starring Bourne movies have had two distinct endings already - in The Bourne Ultimatum and Jason Bourne - so dusting the character off yet again can't help but feel insanely desperate.
There's a point where creatives need to just let it go and accept that the good thing is done, because the mediocre Jason Bourne already made it abundantly clear that the franchise was running on fumes. This isn't to say that a sixth Bourne can't be good, but isn't basically everyone content with the IP being over? We got some quality action flicks out of it, some less-good ones, and that's that.
