10 Upcoming Movies That Are Already Doomed
10. Saw XI
After the surprising critical and commercial success of Saw X in 2023, it didn't take long for Lionsgate to greenlight a sequel, with director Kevin Greutert quickly signed up to return. And on paper, Saw XI should've been an easy creative slam dunk, functioning as a direct sequel to Saw X - effectively another interquel set between the earlier Saw films prior to Jigsaw's (Tobin Bell) demise in Saw III.
Though originally planned to release on September 27, 2024, Saw XI was ultimately delayed an entire year to September 26, 2025, yet if insider reports are anything to go by, it's also going to miss this date.
According to reputable leaker ViewerAnon, Saw XI is basically held up in limbo at the moment due to disagreements between producers Oren Koules and Mark Burg. ViewerAnon stressed that there weren't any creative issues with the film, but that Koules and Burg are clashing about business aspects of the production. This is especially problematic as Tobin Bell will turn 83 years old this summer, and so time is certainly of the essence to get the picture made with him starring.
As shooting hasn't started yet, it's virtually impossible for Saw XI to make its intended 2025 release date, and given that Saw movies are always released around Halloween, a best case scenario now sees Saw XI hitting in September 2026.
That's assuming, of course, that the behind-the-scenes issues get straightened out and Bell is still healthy enough to take part, neither of which are guaranteed.
