10 Upcoming Movies That Could Bomb At The Box Office

Disney and Kenneth Branagh's adaptation of Eoin Colfer's book series released between 2001 and 2012 has been in the works officially since 2013 and was initially slated for a 2019 release before being pushed back to May 2020.

Being a large live-action Disney adaptation of a famous property, it's likely the production budget on this thing is fairly high and will receive an equally expensive marketing push.

But looking back at other recent big budget Disney kid-oriented endeavours (for example, 2018's The Nutcracker and the Four Realms, which was made for a hefty $130 million and only made $174 million worldwide), questions can be raised over this film's success.

The film was also in development hell for ten years when plans to adapt the book were initially proposed in 2001. The project has seen several iterations of writers, directors and stars, and now with a largely unknown cast and a book series long past its prime to capitalise on, this could be a box office disaster waiting to happen.
