10 Upcoming Movies That Just Got Delayed
10. Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse
When Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse was released in June 2023, sequel Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse was optimistically set to release less than a year later on March 29, 2024.
However, mere weeks after Across the Spider-Verse's release, Sony decided to remove the sequel from their release calendar due to both the SAG-AFTRA strike holding up voice recording sessions and general production delays.
This past March, it was then given the more realistic date of June 4, 2027, but the release was given another small delay just recently, with Beyond the Spider-Verse now pencilled in for June 25, 2027 - some three weeks later than planned.
This was apparently due not to production issues but a desire to capitalise on American school-aged kids being on summer break by late June.
It's hardly an egregious push-back, though it's pretty wild that the film is releasing well over three years after its original announced release date - assuming this one actually sticks, of course.
Either way, considering the immense quality of the first two animated Spider-Verse movies, the filmmakers should take all the time they need.
