10 White Zombie/Rob Zombie Songs Inspired By Horror Films
10. Never Gonna Stop (The Red, Red Kroovy)
Album: The Sinister Urge (2001)
References: Both the song and the accompanying music video are a tribute to Stanley Kubrick’s A Clockwork Orange (1971). “Durango Number 95” is the name of the car driven by Alex (Malcolm McDowell, later in Zombie’s Halloween films) and “take me to the home” is a reference to his arrival at the house of a writer (Patrick Magee), whose house is named, aptly enough, “Home.”
In the video, Zombie and the band are seen dressed as “droogs” and shown taking a late-night drive (complete with some obvious rear projection, just like in the film). There’s also a set modelled on the Korova Milk Bar, though whether the band were drinking Vellocet, Synthmesc or Drencrom is never revealed.
Dialogue Samples: “Use my body to keep you alive!”
- The Curious Dr Humpp (1965)
