10 Worst CGI Moments In MCU History
10. The Leader (The Incredible Hulk)
Since its inception way back in 2008, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has come a long way in just about every respect. It is bigger, it has more characters than any other franchise in cinema history, and is the one successful shared universe that changed the Hollywood landscape forever.
With this has come drastic leaps forward in CGI technology. It’s unfair to expect the same level of expertise 13 years ago as we do now. However, even taking this into account there was some questionable CGI in The Incredible Hulk.
When the Abomination attacks Dr. Samuel Sterns, Sterns begins a transformation into what would have been a character known as the Leader. His head began to throb and grow in size, and it looks more than a little ridiculous, even in a movie about two Hulks fighting and flattening Harlem. Nothing like the intimidating villain from the comics.
The tease of the Leader is one of the most infamous loose threads that Marvel Studios never picked up on again, and if this was the CGI we would have had to see him with, maybe that’s actually for the best.
