You could argue that this '80s cult classic has dated in many ways, but even taking that into account this line stands out for its sheer awfulness. During his final battle with vicious villain the Kurgan (Clancy Brown), Christopher Lambert's Connor McLoud finds himself on the wrong end of his enemy's sword, only to be rescued by his lover, Brenda (Roxanne Hart). The Kurgan then swings for her, and when Connor blocks with his own sword he utters the immortal (pun intended) words "what kept you?" with a ridiculously forced little chuckle.
