10. Demon Bear - The New Mutants

Though The New Mutants is a relatively modest superhero movie for the most part, director Josh Boone evidently splashed a sizable chunk of his $80 million budget on the film's final, VFX-soaked set-piece.

The mutants end up facing off against the supernatural manifestation known as Demon Bear, a garish digital abomination that never once convinces as an actual, tangible threat.

Throw in Magik's (Anya Taylor-Joy) corny CGI-illuminated eyes and a brief segment where poor Maisie Williams tries to pretend she's riding on Demon Bear's back, and you have the recipe for a movie which clearly didn't have the tools at its disposal to achieve its ambitious vision.

As is the case with far too many superhero movies, The New Mutants turns into a chaotic, blurry mess during its climactic showdown.
