10. Raiding Again - Tomb Raider (2018)

The original Tomb Raider films with Angelina Jolie were by no means critical hits. Yet, they did manage to catch the spirit of the early 2000s and nestle their way into the hearts of many. The rebooted franchise has yet to truly do this, but this isn’t because it’s necessarily bad, it just isn’t good either.

Oscar-winner Alicia Vikander starred as Lara Croft and with the backing of a successful game franchise, the new film looked like it could be a resounding success.

Sadly, though, the plot proved to be less engaging than that of the games and the film was quite dull. With that said, it did manage to avoid paying too much fan service and being a carbon copy of the original films. This was a good move as the original films haven’t aged very well when you look back on them now.

While many were thankful that Korn didn’t return to provide a theme song, the film still had trouble finding its footing. With a sequel around the corner, the new franchise has time.
