There are plenty of lists scattered around the internet outlining the good scenes in otherwise bad movies: think of the Duel of the Fates in Star Wars: Episode I, for instance, to get a good idea as to how a list on that subject might work. Territory less mined, however, is that relating to bad scenes in awesome movies. Movies with dud moments that are still awesome enough to go unaffected by the stigma of said moment. We tend to associate "awesome" movies with a certain degree of flawlessness, of course. Can an awesome movie contain a truly bad, mis-judged or downright awful scene and still remain awesome? The answer is, "absolutely, yes," as documented and therefore proven by the 10 scenes I've collected up here for your consideration, all of which are downright terrible and yet are a essential parts of movies considered to be rather "awesome." So despite the fact that these scenes are - without question - the stuff of the Devil, they're contained with the frames of movies that are so great that we all kind of forget to consider how bad they are. That's to say, we might have overlooked their inherent awfulness because these movies have been certified brilliant on so many occassions, that it's hard for us to process the idea of there being one poor sequence in the midst of it all...
