As people sat excitedly in their seats in a hushed theatre way back in 1999, eagerly awaiting the first Star Wars movie in 16 years, they no doubt found themselves anticipating all of the amazing new things they were going to see. New planets, new characters, Obi-Wan without a beard, and, of course, new bad guys. And, just a few minutes into the movie, right after a very stiff Obi-Wan tells an extremely bored sounding Qui-Gon-Jinn that he has "a bad feeling about this", you get to meet one of the new 'baddies' - Nute Gunray. Uh oh. While never imagined to be the central enemy, it was still somewhat of a letdown. Speaking with a stilted, Asian sounding accent, Gunray (and the rest of the equally boring Neimoidians) proved to be so mind numbingly useless that had the species just been a rehashed version of the Ewoks people would have been happier. As the film progresses, it's revealed that the Trade Federation is under control of the "mysterious" Darth Sidious and are merely pawns in a Sith revolution, but regardless, the snivelling and cowardly Neimoidians begin to grind on the nerves.
