10 Worst Superhero Movies Of The 2010s
10. Justice League (2017)
This is just a bit sad this one, hence why I’m giving it a little slack. That said though, it’s still not a good film.
Justice League is what happens when two very talented and very different directors are given the helm of the same film. Zack Snyder was due to give us his answer to the Avengers with DC’s biggest heroes but had to pull out during production due to the death of his daughter. Therefore, Avengers director Joss Weedon was brought in to pick up the pieces, while also putting his own mismatched pieces in places they don’t belong, and thus creating the most baffling jigsaw puzzle of the decade.
The fact the film was made before establishing the majority of its characters was confusing enough, but with all the trouble this film went through behind the scenes as well as following on from the death of Superman (we’ll get to that...) saw something only barely watchable as it saw the heroes fighting generic CG villain Stephenwolf in his oh-so boring quest of revenge by finding the Motherboxes.
No-one on screen is invested (Batfleck looks particularly bored), we don’t care about the majority of these characters because we don’t know them, it’s an overly computer generated mess that looks like something from 10 years ago, and need we mention Superman’s incredibly distracting lip-job.
