11 Hilariously Bad Death Scenes In Otherwise Awesome Movies

11. Javert (Russell Crowe) - Les Miserables

The Scene: After struggling to reconcile the possibility that Jean Valjean (Hugh Jackman) might be a more complex human being than he first believed, police inspector Javert (Crowe) sings a song and flings himself off a bridge to his brutal death.

Why It's Hilariously Bad: Even ignoring the silliness inherent in all musicals and, well, Russell Crowe's terrible singing, the real amusement here comes from the peculiar directorial decision to dub in a comically over-the-top bone-crunching sound when Javert completes his plunge.

Considering that this is supposed to be a tasteful movie and all, it seemed extremely odd that Tom Hooper not only showed Javert smashing into a fixture at the bottom of his dive, but included such a ridiculously jarring sound effect.
