9. A Shia LaBeouf Biopic Where He Plays His Own Father (Honey Boy)

Honey Boy is directed by Alma Har'el (Bombay Beach) from a script written by Shia LaBeouf, serving as a semi-autobiographical account of his own formative years.

Lucas Hedges will star as the Shia surrogate Otis Lort, while LaBeouf himself will play James Lort, the boy's strung out, alcoholic and abusive father. From the few set snaps we've seen so far, it looks as reliably bonkers as you'd hope for.

It's unclear whether or not the project is an artsy form of therapy for LaBeouf, but it's great to see him making continually unique - and, honestly, bats*** crazy - career choices. Fingers crossed the film's actually good to boot.
