11 Lame Post-Credits Scenes Everyone Regrets Waiting For

10. Mulder & Scully On Holiday - X-Files: I Want To Believe (2008)

The Scene: The helicopter shot which has been playing behind the credits heads out to sea, where Mulder (David Duchovny) and Scully (Gillian Anderson) are sat in a row boat in swimsuits, with Mulder rowing them towards a beautiful island in the distance. As the helicopter flies away, the pair wave up to the camera. How Long You Waited: 4 minutes, 13 seconds. Why Everyone Regrets Staying For It: Because it's so utterly bizarre and largely pointless. Yes, it's a callback to earlier in the movie where the iconic duo talk about getting away from it all, and sure, seeing Gillian Anderson in a bikini is never a bad thing, but if you were hoping for some sort of set-up or tease for future adventures, you'd be pretty damn disappointed. Plus, the fourth wall-breaking wave to the camera is just incredibly strange. It's all so much effort for a 30 seconds sequence, as though the movie ran under-budget and the director just felt like having some fun.
