8. The Shape Of Water Is A Secret Hellboy Prequel
In the U.S., screenings of War for the Planet of the Apes have come attached with a trailer for Guilllermo del Toro's new sci-fi fantasy film, The Shape of Water.
Curiously, reports have mentioned that the creature around which the movie revolves bears an incredible resemblance to Abe Sapien from del Toro's Hellboy movies.
It's all the more interesting knowing that the creature is also played by Doug Jones, who of course played Abe Sapien in both of the Hellboy films, and so while del Toro is likely to play his cards close to the chest until the film's December release, could he in fact be making a stealth Abe Sapien spin-off?
Sure, there would be a lot of legal issues to clear considering the impending Hellboy reboot, but given how closely the new creature resembles Abe, it's looking likely del Toro might've actually pulled it off.
