Nolan's Batman trilogy was a successful attempt at bringing the popular hero into the 21st Century, taking more cues from Michael Mann's Heat than Burton's earlier interpretations of the character. This recut trailer, much like the films themselves, tries to look at the reasons why Bruce Wayne chooses to dress up as a bat at night. In a stroke of genius, it totally overlooks the fact that he fights crime while in costume. Instead, Wayne is painted as a quirky weirdo who likes to wear a mask and look at the city at night.
