5. Making Death Mean Nothing

In fairness, this is a problem facing so much superhero fare these days: the MCU certainly hasn't found a way to reconcile the stakes of death with its desire to resurrect characters from the grave or rely on fake-out deaths.

Yes, it's nothing new for superheroes to die in the comics and then be resurrected a few issues later, but in the more physical, tangible and populist realm of the superhero movie, being so flippant with death, especially in a self-contained cinematic universe, doesn't fly quite so well.

So far, it's been argued that Man of Steel skirted over the clear number of lives lost in the climactic Metropolis battle, and BvS then somewhat awkwardly addressed it in rather on-the-nose fashion. Then Supes died at the end of that movie, but of course, the funeral scene had zero lasting impact because his resurrection began literally seconds later.

The DCEU needs to be careful here. Make Superman's return mean something, but more to the point, don't go around temporarily offing other superheroes or giving seemingly mortal characters the Agent Coulson treatment, because it undermines the very nature of death in the first place.

Maybe kill off a few notable supporting characters in order to balance Superman's return from the dead and be done with it. Hell, for all the good Lois has done lately, she's a prime candidate.
