3. May Day Could've Been So Much More
Grace Jones' memorably barmy performance has helped make her henchwoman May Day an iconic Bond figure despite the fact that she's written as a bit of a mess.
She certainly had the potential to be a fun, subversive spin on the usual gimmicky henchman, but after a strong introduction she spends most of the second act doing basically nothing (beyond a nauseating scene where she slips into bed with 007).
Also disappointing is her heel-face turn in act three, hilariously declaring "I thought that creep loved me" when Zorin happily leaves her to die. This leads to May Day sacrificing herself in order to thwart Zorin's plan.
Considering the series made a major mistake by transforming Jaws (Richard Kiel) into a "good guy" in Moonraker, it's disappointing the same mistake was made with another highly intriguing antagonist.
