Now, it's worth mentioning that despite being a talented, appealing actress, Alexandra Daddario hasn't appeared in a critically fresh movie since 2005's The Squid and the Whale, which is also the only fresh movie on her entire filmography.

The problem, inevitably, is that Daddario gets cast in stereotypical eye candy roles that don't give her much to work with, and this reached its painful, cringe-inducing apex with this year's The Layover.

Directed by William H. Macy of all people, this is another tired spin on the typical love triangle rom-com, and it doesn't even begin to make the most of its R rating.

Daddario is fun to look at as usual, but her and Kate Upton's characters are such thoroughly detestable people that it's hard to care much about the outcome of the romance or their friendship. Daddario's given a nothing character, and appropriately delivers nothing beyond looking good in a swimsuit.
