There was recently news that Anakin Sky-whinger himself was due to make a cameo appearance in early drafts of the script for The Force Awakens, as some sort of hybrid Jedi/Sith ghost, come to complain to Luke about how much sand there is in the afterlife. His ghostly visage was intended as fluctuating between Christensen's face and Darth Vader's mask, in what admittedly sounds like a cool visual effect. However when Michael Arndt's script got thrown out because of too much emphasis on Luke rather than the new kids, so too went the idea for Anakin's ghost. This tweet was well-put and relevant, but damned if I don't feel sorry for Hayden.
