The best way to predict future behaviour is to observe past behaviour, and let's just look at the main characters of every Paranormal Activity movie: in the first movie, Micah died and Katie became possessed; in the second, Kristi and Daniel were killed while Ali happened to be out of the house at the time; in the third movie, Dennis and Julie are both violently murdered; in PA4, Ben gets his neck snapped and Alex is presumably killed off-screen; and in the spin-off The Marked Ones, Hector is killed by Jesse, who is now possessed. So yes, protagonists and their buddies and or families have a pretty bad time in these movies, so whoever is unlucky enough to be appointed the lead role will likely end up suffering a grisly demise or becoming possessed by a demonic entity. If the series is preparing to transition into its final stages, then last-girl-standing Ali Rey would be the smart pick, but whoever it is, their hours are numbered the second the movie begins.
