Rotten Tomatoes Score: 77% (6.7/10)

What The Critics Said: Fatih Akin's German drama about a woman (Diane Kruger) seeking revenge for the death of her husband and son in a terrorist attack won the 2018 Golden Globe for Best Foreign Film, while critical praise was lavished on Kruger's performance.

Why It Actually Sucked: Kruger's performance is indeed worthy of most of the hype, but the movie as a whole? Not so much. What begins as a legitimately horrifying drama about loss and the nature of violence descends into an increasingly silly, childish commentary on revenge.

This leads to a grim finale that's more embarrassingly on-the-nose than poignant, undoing much of Kruger's fine work in the process.
